Zac Townsend graduated from Brown University with an AB in public policy and applied mathematics-economics. His interests range from economic policy to machine learning.

He has had a variety of internships working to address human trafficking both in the United States and abroad, and has been awarded fellowships and prizes for his extracurricular and curricular work.
